Texas Selected as the State with the Top Business Climate

Site Selection magazine has selected Texas as the state in 2011 with the best business climate. The magazine annually ranks states based on a survey of corporate real estate executives, analysis of the tax climate and new business activity. Texas ousted North Carolina for the top spot after holding the top ranking for the past ten years.

Executives who participated in the survey ranked Texas the best state for business based on a variety of factors, including its pro-business environment, regulatory climate and the fact there is no state income tax. The availability of high quality real estate and its resilient and almost robust economic climate in comparison to the rest of the country was also cited. Houston and Dallas lead the country among major markets in terms of job growth over the last year but the employment gains are not limited to just the big cities as several smaller metropolitan areas rank among the best in the country.
