Zero: The Project to End Prostate Cancer

by CoyDavidson on November 25, 2010

I started this blog in September of 2009 and after 272 posts, I have never written about any subject that was not related to commercial real estate in some way. On this Thanksgiving, a day that is celebrated to give thanks, I thought this would be the appropriate occasion.

I had the good fortune of meeting an individual on Twitter and ultimately in real life that became a friend of mine. His name is Gabe Canales and he owns a marketing public relations firm here in Houston. Gabe is someone I quickly admired for not only his success in the business world but also because he is plain and simple, just a great guy.

Gabe’s Story

I had the idea to post on this subject because I wanted to support my friend in his efforts, but also because commercial real estate, all though changing is such a male dominated industry. I thought this would be an appropriate venue to bring awareness to this disease that has affected so many men. There are not many of us who have not had cancer touch our lives in some way. I lost my mom to this disease at the age of 52.

On this day, I am thankful for my health and for a friend like Gabe Canales who has not only inspired me, but also motivated me to get involved.
