Houston Begins to see Job Gains

The Greater Houston Partnership has released its April 2010 Economic Report for the Houston region. Highlights from the report:

  • February preliminary estimates show Houston gaining 10,300 jobs from January to February.
  • Projected new retail construction is 950,000 square feet for 2010, a 20 year low.
  • The Port of Houston has attained the status of the 15th largest port in the world based on tonnage and second largest in the U.S.
  • Census Bureau reports indicate Houston is still the sixth largest metro in the nation.
