What is Houston’s Image?

How the Rest of the Country Views Houston

I was recently a guest on KUHF’s Houston Matters along with the President and CEO of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Greg Ortale and And Elise Hu, a reporter who covers the intersection of technology and culture for NPR. The topic of our discussion was the image of Houston from the perspective of people who don’t live in our city.

Over two years ago, I wrote a post titled; Houston Needs a Good P.R. Firm, so host Craig Cohen invited me on the show to discuss if Houston’s image has changed recently. The city has received considerable attention from the national media over the last year or so, particularly for its economic story which has changed the perception of Houston around the country, to some degree. So this begs the question; What do you really know about Houston?
