Houston Labor Market Remains Upbeat

Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, TX MSA employers expect to hire at an upbeat pace during Quarter 4 2011, according to the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey. From October to December, 22% of the companies interviewed plan to hire more employees, while 13% expect to reduce staff. Another 64% expect to maintain their current workforce levels and 1% are not certain of their hiring plans. This yields a Net Employment Outlook of 9%.

The National outlook projects hiring by U.S. employers to remain stable amid economic concerns and market uncertainty.
