Hype or Wave of the Future?

There is considerable discussion these days about the increasingly mobile workforce and its potential impact on how we utilize our workspace and overall office space demand in the future. 45% of U.S. workers have jobs that would be compatible with at least some degree of teleworking according to the report, The State of Telework in the U.S. However we know little about the rate of increase in mobility—how often people are out of the office, where they are, and what they’re doing. For that matter, there’s no agreed-upon method of defining who they are.

This report from the Telework Research Network sheds some light on telecommuting and the mobile workforce in the United States.
